WHAT IS THE FOOD LIKE ON MOUNT KILIMANJARO?

Food is a vital part of your Kilimanjaro adventure. At high altitudes, many climbers lose their appetite, but eating and drinking well is essential to keep your body strong and help prevent altitude sickness. That’s why Velam Tours & Safaris provides delicious, healthy, and carefully prepared meals throughout your climb. Our experienced mountain chef ensures every dish is both nutritious and enjoyable, giving you the energy you need to reach the summit.

We also love adding special touches to your journey—whether it’s a birthday cake on the mountain, or celebrating Christmas and New Year with cards and cakes at the Roof of Africa. With us, even in the wilderness, you can enjoy a warm, personal experience.

Dietary Needs & Fresh Ingredients

Your health and comfort are our top priorities. If you have special dietary requirements—such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or other preferences—just let us know in advance. Our team is happy to cater to your needs. We also make sure to include fresh seasonal fruits and high-quality ingredients to keep meals varied, tasty, and balanced.
